Sela theme Grid Page

  Hi everyone

  Can someone help me figure out how to display my posts using the grid page template? Also how do I display that same page on the front page widget area. Thanks in advance.

  Or is there a way i can revert to the original layout of the theme but keep all content? I want grid pages on the front page widget area to display my gallery/designs. Any help would be appreciated.

  Hi.. Thank you for getting back to me. I understand the concept but when I started my blog I had no idea how to use WordPress and I messed up the original layout. I then created categories instead of pages and added it to my menu. Perhaps that’s why its difficult to structure the grid page.. as its for child pages rather than categories? Do you think I would have to redesign the menu? Btw do you know how to create child pages?

  Hi @oceansoriginals, Sela can show static *pages* as a grid, but it always shows posts as a list like so: https://selademo.wordpress.com/blog/

  So, if it makes sense for your site, you could use static pages for this.

  Or if you’d like your blog posts to show up in a grid, we may be able to recommend some other themes. Let us know what you like best about Sela and we’ll try to point you to something similar but for blog posts.

  @oceansoriginals sure thing.

  First, create one to hold them all. Call it “Services” or “Designs” or whatever you’d like. On its settings, give it the Grid Page template.

  Then make individual pages for each item in the grid:

  – Give them all featured images

  – Give them excerpts (under their settings / more options)

  – Give them a parent page (the one you created earlier).

  – Publish each page

  If you want any of those individual pages to also contain a grid, no big deal, just follow the same steps.
