Sela theme header image not responsive enough
-
The instructions for the header image for the Sela theme recommend a image size of 1180 x 160 px. When I load an image this size, it is too large for my iPhone. Part of the image extends beyond the right boundary of the theme. Changing the size of the image only causes other problems when viewing on a PC. Why doesn’t this theme resize header images correctly?

Hi Jeff,
The Sela theme does recommend a minimum width of 1180 pixels for Featured Images, however the Custom Header element is not a responsive one, and that is the image you’re having difficulty with on your site.
The Custom Header is only ever meant to be a background for a site’s header text, we do not recommend using text within custom headers for this very reason. The Header text will be responsively formatted to fit within a device’s screen, but the custom header will not and only a portion of it is displayed, as you’ve seen.
To clear up any confusion, the Sela theme demo does not have a Custom Header image implemented, it just uses the white color behind the text “Sela // Not Just a Suit and Tie Business.” The prominent image of the books and notebook is a Featured Image set within the Front Page Template page.
I’d recommend for your case using the Site Logo option, rather than the Custom Header, for the images you’ve been uploading to Custom Header.

Awesome! Let me know if I can help with any other features in Sela. It can be a little tricky, but looks nice and clean once it’s all setup. :)
