Sela Theme Help
-
I am using the Sela theme and am having some trouble with the 3 widgets on the bottom as seen on the demo. I would like to make my last 3 recent posts show up there and look like that with the picture and an excerpt. Can I do this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Those widgets are not dynamic. The First, Second, and Third Front Page Widget areas in the demo and in the example you refer to each contain text widgets with images and “read more” links added manually. If you wish to update them each time a new post is published, you might do so by copying and pasting the content of the second and third from the left (also changing the titles), and replacing the title and content of the first. It could soon become confusing and tedious.

Correction:
…by copying and pasting the content of the second and third from the left (also changing the titles)…
This should have been…
by copying the content of the leftmost and the middle one, and shifting each of them over one widget (down one widget on the widgets page) also shifting the titles one position as well, and replacing the title and content of the first.

Hi lindstriplett – as musicdoc1 says, those three text areas on the Sela demo are just manually created text widgets.
You could experiment with some other options if you’d like:
Display Posts shortcode, which can be used in a text widget:
