Sela Theme – Image settings
-
I am trying to figure out the best way to do my images sizes in Sela theme.
If I put a featured image for a page, it will pull into the main image on that page, plus go onto the smaller image on the grid page.
Do I have to upload different sizes for each image? Or will wordpress automatically re-size according to where the featured image sits?
What are the main sizes I should be uploading?
Here is the page in question – http://www.alifewellbalanced.com/essential-oils/
Scroll to ‘Lavender’
Then click ‘Lavender’ and you will see the featured image on the page.
How do I know what size to upload these at!?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
Lovely looking blog you have!
The Sela theme is responsive which means it adapts to devices of different sizes. Therefore, you only need to upload one image and it will be automatically resized to the width needed.
You are using the full-width page template for your Essential Oils 101 and single oil pages. On the Sela theme full-width page demo, the size of the featured image is 1180px x 435px. So if you upload an image at that size or larger, it will prevent pixellation/blurring at the largest size.
Does that help?

Yes – this helps!
Do you happen to know how I can add Widgets like are on the front page to full width pages?
So that way I can write text and then have two images underneath point to a new page?
I don’t necessarily want to use a grid page, because then it makes it a ‘Parent’ page and makes my URLs too long…

Widget areas are predefined by the theme you have chosen — meaning you can only add widgets to page templates with support for a widget area. Unfortunately the full width page template in the Sela theme does not support widgets within the content area or in a sidebar.
If Sela doesn’t provide what you need, there are many WordPress.com themes available.
