Sela theme problems

    I just switched to the Sela theme, and when I made a new page for the landing page, my posts page has disappeared from the listings to edit or specify as the place for posts. Also, in the new WordPress dashboard, the option “reading” where help says to specify that, does not appear in “Settings”, and I have to switch back to the Classic dashboard?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Nancy,

    Were you able to figure this out? I see that you set your Posts page to:

    hello, hello

    Also, in the new WordPress dashboard, the option “reading” where help says to specify that, does not appear in “Settings”, and I have to switch back to the Classic dashboard?

    Yes you are correct. To reach the Settings > Reading section of your site, you will need to use the Classic Dashboard.

    Let me know if you have any questions with this!

    I don’t know that I figured it out as much as stumbled around, and re-purposed an already existing page. It was very inelegant and frustrating.
    Two more questions, for which I have found inadequate explanation: How do I use the “grid page” template in the Sela theme?
    Is there any way to make the front page box in which the title appears any smaller, or responsive to the amount of text it contains?

    Have you checked out the support page for the Sela Theme? You can find instructions under Grid Template:

    https://wordpress.com/themes/sela/

    As for the front page box, the theme itself is responsive and you can see that when you increase/decrease the browser display size. Here are a couple examples:

    Of course the second after I posted, I found the Sela support page :)
    As for the front page box, I was hoping that the box itself would scale to the amount of text in it.
    Thanks for your quick help!

    As for the front page box, I was hoping that the box itself would scale to the amount of text in it.

    So in order to do this, you will have to override the theme’s original design with CSS. You can change the font size with CSS like so:

    div.hero-container-inner .entry-title {
    	font-size: 2em;
    }

    div.hero-container-inner .entry-content {
    	font-size: 1.5em;
    }

    You can switch around the numbers to your liking. However, if you want to change the actual size of the box, that would require a bit more work and media queries:

    So, if that is the case, I highly recommend posting this in the CSS Customization forum and please include the width/height that you want.
