Hi there!
Have you seen this page about the Sela theme? https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sela/
There are a few steps to complete to get your site switched from the default blog post format to a front page that looks like Sela’s demo.
First, create a new page (called “Home” or something easy for you to remember means your front page), and in the Page Attributes box select “Front Page Template” and publish.
Then go into Customize > Static Front Page. Switch “front page displays” to “A static page” then select the page you just made in the Front Page dropdown menu, and save.
Once you’ve done that, you’ve got your front page working and can configure the various pieces shown on the demo.
On the theme’s page, find the “The Front Page Template includes the following” area and you’ll see more information on the different elements on the page with tips on getting them setup.
Let me know if you have any questions! :)
