    How Do I integrate the Testimonials to a page?

    If you have any questions about adding testimonials after reading the setup guide for Sela, just let me know. You’ll first need to set your front page to display a static page, then apply the Front Page template to it. The steps are listed in the guide, along with links to specific support pages. Let us know how you do!

    Hi, I need help to let testimonial section appear on my static frontpage. (Please see villafidelia.it).
    I followed all the instructions here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sela/ but I don’t have ‘Testimonials’ on my dashboard, so where can I add new ones?
    Could you please help me?

    Ilaria – you can add testimonials in the WP Admin editor on any WordPress.com site. On a self-hosted site, you need to activate the Jetpack plugin’s Custom Content Types module. I don’t see any WordPress.com sites on this account, so I’m guessing you’re running a self-hosted site, but let me know the URL of your WordPress.com site running Sela if you do have one and I can help you further.

    Hi Katryn, many thanks for your quick reply. Yes, it’s a self hosted site. I’ve installed Jetpack and now I can display Testimonials, great!
    Now, do I have to create a ‘page’ (or tag, category) for all the Testimonials?

    Nope! Just visit youdomain.com/testimonial and you should see them there.

    you can add testimonials in the WP Admin editor on any WordPress.com site.

    I have the Writr theme and do not see this option anywhere in WP Admin. Do you have to use one of the “new” themes or is there another way to utilize this feature?

    Next, is there a way to add a rotating testimonial “widget of sorts” to any theme if I cannot utilize the testimonials feature with my Writr theme? I have a decent understanding of CSS so if someone points me in the right direction or gives me a code to add this rotating testimonial, I could make it happen. I would really like to add this to my site.

    Suggestions? Comments?

    What I said earlier was incorrect, I was thinking of portfolios instead of testimonials – sorry for the confusion.

    Free themes that include the testimonial option along with Sela are Stay and Motif.

    We don’t currently have a feature like that.

    Thanks! Ive spent too much time editing and coding my current theme to want to mess with changing it to a different one at this point. However, it may be something I will consider in the future.

    Do you have any suggestions or ideas on how to possibly do this with a text or image widget? I am sure there is a way to code pictures and text and have it rotate like a slideshow, right? Or maybe a way to use the text or image widget in connection with a linkedin account to directly link those recs?

    just some thoughts for you all who are better coders than I am.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    rars22 – I have some good news – a new testimonials feature has just launched, and it’s available in every theme. :)
