Sela Theme – unable to show picture next to excerpt for blog post?

    I am trying to have my blog posts show only excerpts with thumbnails in the Sela theme, where they would look like the bottom post on the Sela demo, ‘TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS’ seen here: https://selademo.wordpress.com/blog/

    Currently, my blog posts only show the text, and if I add a ‘featured image’, it shows up in the style of the ‘SOME MUCH NEEDED VACATION!’/’A LOOK AT MY BOOKSHELF’ style (where the picture is just behind the blog post title. I want it to show a smaller photo , left aligned, with the text. I have it set up this way within the blog post (photo minimized and left aligned with text next to & under it), but it doesn’t show this way in the excerpt. Please help!

    I’ve tried:
    – changing the post format (standard, image, gallery)
    – changing content options (from full post to excerpt)
    – uploading the photo to the post as media (rather than using the flickr embed code)
