Sela theme white overlay

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the white overlay box in the Sela theme? It appears on my Home page in front of the Featured Image.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, to remove the white box in the center of the image on your home page, you would need the WordPress.com Premium Plan upgrade, which includes Custom Design and the ability to add custom CSS. You can try out and preview custom CSS before you buy as explained here.
Here would be the code you would need to hide the white box.
.home .hero .hentry { display: none; } -
Seriously? You have to pay to have a workable web site?
I wonder if there are other themes that don’t paste a white box over the home page? Do all themes have this? -
Not all themes put the text box over the featured image. The designers on some themes did that and some did not. I would suggest looking through our Theme Showcase at themes with Featured Images.
Also, if you are wanting clean images with no text over them, I would suggest looking at themes that are designed for Photography or Portfolios, or perhaps Photoblogging. There will likely be some overlap in the filtered selections I’ve linked to above.
Some themes offer a level of customization and features, but in general, changes such as removing the white overlay from the featured image on Sela would require the upgrade. We work hard to provide a good selection of themes that users can utilize without the need for customization and we are releasing new themes all the time. Some things here require paid upgrades, and that is what allows us to keep the doors open and keep all the free things we offer free.

Thank you for your help. I will check out the other themes and see if I can convert to them.
Can I switch themes within the same domain–i.r. I won’t have to start a new WordPress blog?
And I don’t mean to sound ungrateful. Internet users tend to take for granted these free services, which is a bad habit. We are lucky to have WordPress available to us at no cost, so this is a small price to pay for it. :)

No, you can switch themes on your current site as many times as you desire. It doesn’t require a new blog.
Thanks for your understanding on the paid upgrades. WordPress.com offers a lot of features for free, and it is a great place to have a website or a blog. We wish we could give it all away for free, but… well… :)

I have too many problems with the new wordpress upgrade and with my Sela theme to reorganize the widgets is impossible.
You propose the Sela theme free and in reality you have to pay to get the same result. Not very fair.I wanted to use the french support and it is just a catastrophe …

I could find my old dashboard so for the widgets it is okay. Currently I have another problem. Under one of my posts the comments don’t appear. 72 comments approved … I wrote on WordPress support and I didn’t receive an answer. Could you help me ?
Thank you :)

Yes, they have been shown. But they disappeared from the queue.

But they appear here. It is another link, not the usual https://amalalamuddinstyle.wordpress.com/2015/12/06/amal-clooney-attends-in-lanvin-charlotte-tilburys-christmas-party/comment-page-1/#comment-10007

Hi there, and sorry for this issue. I’m discussing this with our developers right now and hope to get back to you shortly with a solution.
-
Hi again, the developers are working on this, but in the meantime you can get the comments to show by going to Settings > Discussion and under Other comment settings where it says,
Break comments into pages with XXX top level comments per page and the Last page displayed by default
change last to first. Check some of your posts with greater than 50 comments to make sure they are showing, but in my testing this change brought the comments back on the single post pages. -

You are welcome, and as soon as this is fixed, I’ll post back into this thread and then you can reset that if you desire.
