Sela theme wont let me add images to my homepage gallery

It won’t let me even open the widget edit screen.
BONUS: Is there anyway to link your posts to a gallery image so when the image is clicked it will open to the blog it relates too?

Can you tell me a little more about what you’re seeing here?
You should be able to add/edit widgets by clicking on My Site > Customize > Widgets, and then selecting the area you need to work on.
If you don’t see the widget area you are looking for, use the preview of your site to navigate to a page where those widgets are displayed, then you’ll have the option to edit it.

Which gallery are you referring to? If it’s a gallery WordPress is building for you, then no, you won’t be able to assign individual links to the different images.
For that you could use individual Image Widgets, or you could use a Text Widget and add your image links with HTML:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/beginning-html/You can also build the image link in the editor, and then copy it from the HTML tab into your widget.
Another possibility, you might like the Dara theme instead of Sela. It’s similar (based on Sela actually) but it has a Featured Posts Slider, so you could have nice big images that automatically link to the post they belong to :)
