Select who can see my notification on Live Messenger/Facebook
-
Hi, I have moved my Windows Live Spaces to WordPress, and it’s nice to see when I add a new post, my friends still can see the notification in my Windows Live activities/Facebook activities. The problems is, I’m concerned if all my contacts will be able to see it. I’d like to limit the visibility of notification to selected contacts (close friends) only. Does anyone know how to do that? Note not all my friends have WordPress accounts, so I can’t just set my blog to private, and ask them to login in order to view my posts. But I think as long as I limit the visibility of notification, I should keep most of the unwanted visiters away.

Are you saying you want to change the blog’s visibility to everyone, or just change your import settings on Facebook? There’s no way to limit the number of people who are your FB friends who see your stream: after all, they can ALL check your Profile.

Windows Live no longer exists. Your blog is on WordPress.com. You are asking for a solution to a Facebook problem: showing your blog links to some people but not others. I’m afraid we can’t help you and you will need to look for help on Facebook.

I think you can do it, but you need to to a couple of things.
First, do not publish your posts to Facebook automatically. Turn that off and prepare to publish each post manually yourself.
Second, create Groups for your friends in FaceBook. A simple example would be just two groups, one to recieve WP updates and one not to.
Then when you share your post, down the bottom of the sharing page, select the group (Customise) you want to Share to.
