Selecting a format
-
Can you tell me which blog format is being used by “Real-World Economics Review Blog?” I would like to use this same format.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
-
-
That blog is using a retired theme (iNove) that no longer supports all WordPress.COM features and can only be used on blogs that have used it prior to its retirement.
-
Those look like standard blog posts. If you mean the theme, scroll to the bottom where you will see:
Create a free website or blog at WordPress.com. The INove Theme.
-
This is my 1st attempt at trying to establish a platform to encourage participation in the consideration of real world problems. Therefore, my questions may seem elementary to many of you. But, if the INove Theme is retired, can anyone suggest a theme that is close to this theme in what it allows.
-
Define “what it allows.” If we don’t know what you want, we can hardly make recommendations.

Basically “raincoaster,” I am looking for the features that the INove format provides. On the right, I need a list of topics addressed. Also, a search capability for those interested. A “recent comments” section. A general “Guideline for Comments.” And, the ability to put other necessary info below that. The main body of information I want considered and commented on to appear on the left. I have looked at a number of the formats, but gauging from the previews offer, I can’t tell what I’m going to get.

What you’re talking about are widgets, available to any theme with a Right-hand sidebar widget area.
Category widget
Search widget
Recent Comments widget
Text widget containing commenting policy you write yourself.
Other widgets.Have you gone through http://learn.wordpress.com yet? It will save you time.

Thank you “raincoaster.” I saw the option, but even after looking up the word I still didn’t know what it meant of where and how they could be used. You’ve been very helpful.
