Selecting thumbnail when publicizing to Facebook

I use the “publicize” feature to post my blogposts on Facebook. However, when I have more than one image in a blog post, I don’t seem to be able to choose which images is the thumbnail that appears in Facebook. Any ideas?

Actually when you put a link on facebook.com, will appear automatically all images that exist in your post. You can select it yourself. But, sometimes, it does not all images you have in your post will appear as an option. It also happened to me. Images that appear automatically usually are the images in the sidebar. So it is better you put several pictures in the sidebar, and you can choose one that appropriate to the content of your post. -
It works that way if you manually click a share link to Facebook, but the Publicize system is entirely automated and the content for the “post” on Facebook is generated immediately after you publish.

amyfarr mentioned that she can share an image (though only one) in FB via the publicize feature. How do you choose the thumbnail that appears? I only use one image per post, so this would work fine for me.
To say a bit more, I would like the thumbnail to appear beside the first part of my blog text so that readers can see it in their news feed.

I have a related issues on frankostyn.wordpress.com. When I publicize a post to facebook, the wordpress post does appear on my facebook page but without a thumbnail. This used to work will, untill 2 days ago. I followed the instructions on the support page (deactivate link and reinstall it) but without success. Can somebody help me here ? It is important to me that these thumbnails appear. Thx. Frank

Can you give us an example of a post that does not publicize properly with thumbnail? (with the full URL, including http://) -
I got the exactly same problem. Two days ago, I worked fine. Here’s the link I’d like to post on Facebook with a thumbnail.

Actually, does it show up when you copy to link on Facebook or when it is published? For my part, it shows up when I copy the link, but it doesn’t when I publish on FB.

Thx for the feedback. I followed the suggestion to publish via share vs. publicize and had the same experience as decotret.
Today, I published a new post… http://frankostyn.wordpress.com/2011/03/17/thursday-march-17th/ and things worked as usual.
It beats me, but so far so good. Thx for your comments and support.
