Selection of images
-
Hi everybody : In my menu, there is a display of pictures with a link to a specific article. These images have been selected automatically out of the article and not according to my choice. What is more, they are not cropped properly and a beautiful parakeet has become a poor headless bird. Other images are still used while I deleted them from the article. Is there a possibility to select those pictures ? To crop them ? The site is not yet public because I’m not totally satisfied. Sorry about that.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I clicked on a number of menu items on your site and did not find the image of the parrot. Can you provide a link to that page please?

Hi Happiness Engineer,
Thanks for answering. The address is : https://tourismenature.wordpress.com/category/afrique/
You can find other examples by cliking on various categories in the menu where I Indicate the continents I visited.
Best regards. -
Unfortunately there isn’t a way to control which portion of the image is used in the grid and how it’s cropped.
As far as which image is displayed in the grid, the theme selects the first (oldest) image that was attached to a post. An image gets attached to a post when you upload it within the post. It stays attached even if you remove the image from the post.
You can see which images are attached to which posts in your WP Admin Media Library, with the List view selected:
https://tourismenature.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php?mode=list
Look at the column called “Uploaded to” to see the name of the post to which an image is attached. To detach an image from a post you no longer want it attached to, click the word “Detach.” To attach a specific image to a specific post, click “Attach.”
Let me know how it goes.

Hello Kathryn, I had some trouble opening the link you indicated and got nothing but a blank page. After some time I managed to open the administration page by deleting “upload.php?mode=list”.
My page is in French but your explanations were so clear that your suggestion produced exactly the result I expected. Thanks a lot indeed for your help and professional advice. -
Génial! I’m glad you got it all worked out. Image attachment can be tricky to explain!
I’ll mark this thread as resolved but feel free to start a new one if you need help with anything else.
