Self-host but keep .wordpress.com prefix?

    Hi,
    I’m getting ready to launch my blog with wordpress.com. I will want to have the chance to self-host it later, but for this particular blog I really like the ring of “_________.wordpress.com,” and would like to keep it when I move to self-host. I know this is odd; most people would tell me to just go with _________.com. But is there a way to self-host and keep the .wordpress.com prefix?
