Self hosted, domain , .com or .org?

Hi Guys , I am very confused since I have decieded I will change my blog name , which then meant change the domain and that then gave me the option to go self hosted! I am confused what is the best and the cheapest way to do this as I am not a professional blogger yet and it is more of a hobby to me. I would love to earn via my blog , a little sum when possible eventually so that is why i am considering all options?

I would change the domain name into something much more simple. I think the cheapest way is to have a domain (either .com or .org) with WordPress.com.

That’s what I was thinking to do Heather . Is there a guide on how to do that ? Also if I change the domain name am I able to carry the content m followers and permanenet links of my previous blog to the new name ? Lastly if I want a domain name without the wordpress.com , what’s the best way to do that ? Thanks
