Self hosted .net traffic

    Hey guys,
    I have my own self hosted blog thetechblog.net but getting traffic is slow. I read somewhere that wordpress hosted blogs get more traffic but if I use my own domain thetechblog.net WITH wordpress instead of self hosted then do I still get the benefit of getting more traffic from stuff like tags and stuff?

    Please advise urgently.
