self hosted : no more visibility on wordpress community?

  • Unknown's avatar

hello everyone, I ran my blog for some weeks on wordpress.com before I moved to self hosting. When I was on “myBlog.wordpress.com” I received dozen notifications per week from other wp-bloggers (comments & likes) but since I’m on self-hosted “myBlog.com” I don’t just get them anymore (! since monthes, NOT A SINGLE ONE), which is quite sad… Is there some kind of visibility issue (within the wp-community, not on google, eg.) between “myBlog.wordpress.com” and “myExactSameBlog.com” ? I wish I’d get the comments & likes from my friends back !… ;) THANX for any help

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,
Did you transfer your followers to your new self hosted blog?
If not, try the steps of the following link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/

thank you carladoria for your answer, yes I did all the transfers ! actually, I meant all the unknown wp-bloggers who very often interacted with my blog when it was on wordpress.com and who don’t do that anymore (at all) since I’m self hosted…
it can’t be because of the actual content, there must be another mysterious reason… as if wp-bloggers weren’t linked to my blog anymore since I’m self-hosted… could that be?

When you are not hosted here you don’t show up in a Tag search or under the Tags you used – people can still subscribe and even use the reader to subscribe – but when they look at specific Tags your site will no longer show up

It’s also cumbersome to comment on self – hosted blogs because you have to click a link to read the whole post, and enter credentials just to comment.

HA! that’s the answers I needed. thanx a lot! I guessed my issue was somehow related to tag searches… that issue should be written somewhere before one moves to self hosting ! (unless I overread it)
self-hosting is great in many ways but makes thing much less funny within the community. I might move my blog BACK to old wordpress.com address and use my rented space for another website… hum…
thanx anyway, guys, and have fun !!!
