self hosted not same as wordpress hosted featured content missing!!

    I used the theme on a wordpress hosted .blog website and all the featured content options worked great however when i downloaded it to my self hosted site the 1-0-5 Ixion is missing the theme options for featured content..

    Can someone update the download file for the self hosted or explain to me how i’m supposed to get the featured content working? I’ve been through the entire code and it’s missing also the theme customizer options for the tags aren’t even there so It’s definitely a different download.

    Hi @smarshallsteel!

    For a self hosted WordPress site to use the Featured Content the same way a WordPress.com site does, you’ll want to install and activate the Jetpack plugin on your self hosted site. That will cause the Featured Content options to appear in your Customizer :)

    Note to other searchers reading this thread – Jetpack only applies to self hosted WordPress sites, not WordPress.com sites. If your site is hosted here on WordPress.com, you do not need to install Jetpack. Those features are already built in!
