Self hosted to wordpress.com
-
Hello,
I am looking to move my companies self hosted wordpress (http://interiorbeverages.com/) to the wordpress.com business plan. I see that I can’t simply pay for 1 month of business plan so I can test moving the website over.
I was hoping moving to your service would be an easy 1-2 hour job but it actually looks to be far more difficult than just ‘importing’ the old XML. I am afraid to pay for a year of your service and not have my website move over properly and function as it should.
Basically, if I pay for the business plan can i fully import my site including the addons I am using and expect them to work? Also if they don’t would I be able to get a refund for the remaining months I paid for?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @interbev,
You’d need to purchase the full year Business plan to get started. WordPress.com does offer a refund if the service doesn’t work out for your needs. You’ll need to cancel within the first 30 days. You can read more about the refund process here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/
Each import will be different, so we can’t say for sure that your plugins/add ons will all work on the WordPress.com platform. It may help to view the current list of incompatible plugins and compare it with what you have.
I’ve tagged your post with ‘modlook’ which notifies the forum staff in case you have further questions.

Hi there,
As @charleybea mentioned, you’ll be able to get a full refund (no questions asked) within 30 days of purchase.
Regarding the plugins, I had a quick look at your site and the plugins I found enabled are all compatible with WordPress.com. If you encounter any problem during import or with the installation of a plugin you’ll be able to start a live chat session with us and we’ll help you out.
