Self-Hosted WordPress 4.1.1. JetPack 3.4.1 cannot access via Android App

  • Unknown's avatar

If JetPack is enabled and connected to WordPress.com, I cannot access the self-hosted site via WordPress Android app. As soon as I deactivate JetPack, Posts/Pages/Media become available again.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s odd and ought to be reported to the developers.

Here’s the link for the android support forums so you can post there and make our developers aware of your issue. http://android.forums.wordpress.org/
    But see here first http://android.wordpress.org/faq/

Some JetPack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/
Others are in the JetPack support forum at WordPress.org
    http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the Theme support forums there.

However, if you can’t find help at either one then you can file a JetPack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

I installed rename xmlrpc and that seemed to help because I had all modules for JetPack deactivated last time around. So I went through and activated module one by one (time consuming but hey), and I android app was OK until I activated Protect. When I activated Protect, from that point on I kept getting errors about accessing Post/Pages/Media etc.

Application log on the device lists only following error in red (among other [PROFILING] logs) which is not very informative, at least to me:

[API] e: No HTTP error document document from the server

I tried adding my IP to the Whitelist but after few seconds, only empty white page showed, so I politely backed out to previous page and removed my IP from Whitelist and applied that to gain access.

I will wait until next patch for JetPack to enable Protect again.

    Thanks for the update.

Thanks for reporting this. Can you also confirm your Android app version? Most recent stable release is 3.8.1.

So far I’ve not been able to replicate any issues with these steps:

    1) Add Jetpack to self-hosted siteX, connect to WordPress.com
    2) Activate all Jetpack modules (including Protect)
    3) Add siteX to WordPress Android App
    4) Select siteX
    5) Add post to siteX and publish
    6) Confirm post publish on siteX

Since you’ve already disabled and re-enable each of Jetpacks modules while tracking down the issue with Protect, that seems to have no effect. Could you disconnect and reconnect your Jetpack connection just for good measure?

To disconnect/reconnect Jetpack, go to Jetpack -> Jetpack in your site’s dashboard. Scroll down to the footer of that page to find the “Disconnect from WordPress.com” link as shown here: http://d.pr/i/10QE . Click that, then reconnect to WordPress.com when you see the button to do so.

I’ve also reported this to our Jetpack developer team while I continue testing.
