Self-Hosting Theme & Plugin Installation

I recently transferred my domain from wordpress to another host. I then installed WordPress so as to be self-hosted. Now I’m trying to install plugins, but I keep getting redirected to the WP business plan page. Since I am now self-hosted, I don’t understand why I still have the limitations of my original WP hosting. I should be able to install plugins, custom themes, advertising, etc. but I am unable to.

The domain you’ve provided — gingerinparadise.com — is actually currently hosted at WordPress.com according to this WhoIs result:
https://www.whoishostingthis.com/?q=gingerinparadise.comSo if this is the domain you’re referring to, than that’s the reason why you’re being taken to the Business plan page whenever you try installing plugins. Let us know if the domain in question is actually different.
When moving a WordPress.com hosted site to a self-hosted site, moving your domain is only one part of the process. You also need to find web hosting to host the site itself. The exact process of how to do this is outlined here:

I’ve already done all of those things. My new host says the transfer is complete. I’ve gotten confirmation from WordPress that my transfer was successful. So as far as I can tell, my transfer worked, but yet nothing has changed. I’m at a loss.

Got you, I can see how you might be feeling here. The nameservers of your domain are still pointing to WordPress.com so I’m at a loss here too. Would mind confirming the host you recently transferred your site to?

This is actually the first time I’ve come across two different WHOIS results, so it’s definitely strange seeing this. I also got the same results as you did after running your domain in the ICANN WHOIS search.
I’ll go ahead and tag this thread with modlook to have staff come in and have a look at what might be going in here.

Figured it out! (I think.) There was some kind of error updating my nameservers when I did that a couple weeks ago, so no wonder nothing was working right. Hoping that’ll fix the problem. Thank you for all the help!
