Self-like

How come WordPress.com/ shows I keep “Liking” my posts when I haven’t “Liked” them. (Why would I? I do like them, but…)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Finding yourself listed as having “Liked” your own posts on soothfairy.com is usually the result of a session conflict or a layout shift occurring while you are logged into your WordPress.com account. Unlike some social media platforms, WordPress doesn’t automatically “self-like” content; however, if you view your own post in the WordPress.com Reader or via a mobile device immediately after publishing, a stray click or a page refresh can accidentally trigger the Like button. Because your administrator session is active, the system registers the interaction instantly. This can also be caused by browser extensions that scan page elements or by “sticky” cache files that hold onto old interaction data. To resolve this, you can manually “Unlike” the post through the Reader or clear your browser’s cookies to ensure that your session isn’t unintentionally interacting with the post’s metadata during your final review.

Blimey! Thanks, James. Cookies will be cleared.
