Self-pingbacks from old domain to new?
-
I’m occasionally getting a weird pingback on my blog, raincoaster.com from my old domain name, raincoaster.wordpress.com. This only started happening a couple of days ago, and it’s only happened on a couple of posts.
I’m wondering if it has something to do with the new social bookmarking links I’m putting in now, and particularly if it has something to do with the Technorati Favorite link which is the last one. Several times I’ve put the code in and WordPress has stripped it out, although it’s just plain HTML. Then I’ve gone back and fixed the link and that is when the last pingback showed up. Could this be related to the fact that I’ve favorited both raincoaster.com and raincoaster.wordpress.com on Technorati?
Here’s an example of a post this is happening with:
http://raincoaster.com/2006/11/27/vancouver-see-wall/and here is the code I am using for Technorati, with curly brackets for display purposes only:
{ a href=”http://www.technorati.com/faves/?add=http://raincoaster.com” }Technorati me!{ /a }
I’ve also noticed just now that Technorati has the correct “last updated 4 hours ago” for raincoaster.wordpress.com, but says “Last updated 20 hours ago” for raincoaster.com.
Any ideas? I’m stumped.

I’ve noticed at technorati that the single post updates and the file updates are as you have stated. Several times each day the new posts are updated and from what I can tell every 24 hours or so the entire file is updated but I could be wrong.

you should probably send in feedback.
pingbacks are sent by the wordpress.com backend, so technorati shouldn’t be affecting it.
