Self theme – images and testimonials

I love this theme but I have 2 issues.
1. The featured images on the pages are not filling the whole width and they look very strange ranged left. What can I do?
2. The testimonials on the front page are not the ones I want. I’ve added numbers 1 and 2 to the ones I prefer but they are not showing up.
Otherwise, thank you for a beautiful theme that is just what I was looking for!

Hi.
1. The featured images on the pages are not filling the whole width and they look very strange ranged left. What can I do?
The following spec from the Quick Specs section of the Sela theme guide is relevant:
- The featured image on the front page and on pages works best with images at least
1180wide.
When I performed a test with a featured image of 700 pixels width, it was aligned to the left and did not fill the page.
2. The testimonials on the front page are not the ones I want. I’ve added numbers 1 and 2 to the ones I prefer but they are not showing up.
The relevant part of the Testimonial section of the Sela guide says,
- The Front Page Template displays the most recent two testimonials. If you prefer to select which two testimonials are displayed on the homepage, add the number 1 or 2 to the Order field in the Page Attributes box on the testimonial edit screen.
Though I didn’t number my testimonials on my test site, I also found that the testimonials did not display on the front page with the Front Page Template in the order that the theme says they should. I’ve published three testimonials. The two oldest testimonials display, in chronological order from left to right.

Hi Dawn, did you get your featured images sorted out? If you still need help, could you please link to a specific post or page where your image doesn’t look right and I’ll be glad to take a look.

I see what you mean. Because the number “0” is added to the testimonials’ Order box, that seems to take precedence over the 1. Try adding 0 to the testmonial you want displayed first, and 1 to the one you want displayed second on the homepage. Add any other number – other than 0 or 1 – to the other testimonials. Let me know how this goes. I will update the Sela documentation once I’ve double-checked with with our developers that this is the expected behaviour.

Hi Kathryn, I just tried to update the testimonial numbers and that worked as long as I made both the ones I wanted to see a zero, and the other ones bigger numbers. Now I have the problem that the ‘like’ button is on there even though I switched it off on the posts and in settings.
I think I’ve solved the image problem too, by removing and reconnecting the images, they seem to be showing up as intended.

Could you please explain in detail what image issue you’re having so I can help troubleshoot?
If you want an image displayed with each testimonial, you can add a featured image to each one, for example, here:
