  Hi, I was wondering if this is a good site to use to sell items. I want to make my own eCommerce website to sell items and create my own online store.

  You have the option of adding PayPal:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

  You could point to an Ecommerce site that you have set up elsewhere:
  You would need to create a custom menu http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ and then add a custom link to that site. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-custom-links
