Selling ad space
-
My wife and I are currently trying to transition to WordPress.com Business Plan, but want to be sure that we are able to put ads up on our blog http://www.dulcecandy.com
Right now there are three companies that we are selling space to and would like to continue this relationship after the move. Will this be possible with Wordads? Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The only advertising program at WordPress.COM is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
http://en.wordpress.com/apply-for-wordads/No blogger initiated advertising for driving traffic to third party sites is allowed. PPC is not allowed. Affiliate marketing banners and any and all advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.COM are not allowed.
Here’s what gets a blog suspended:

This guide will explain how to move your WordPress.com site to another hosting platform: Moving to a Self-Hosted WordPress Site
https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-to-a-self-hosted-wordpress-site/We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

Thanks for the quick response. I have another question about the business plan below:
My web developer is going to customize a current theme from WP premium selections.
My question is do I need to first sign up for the Premium/Business plan before edits can be made via CSS to any themes? -
Regardless of upgrades, you cannot install any custom theme or any third party theme or create your own theme, or use stylesheets from other themes in any wordpress.COM hosted blog and there is no upgrade that changes that.
There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
The Premium upgrade does not include any premium themes. They must be purchased separately from https://wordpress.com/themes/
See here for details on purchasing the annually renewable Premium bundle http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ that contains a custom design upgrade required for CSS editing: Custom design – Frequently Asked Questions

You can also post there prior to purchasing an upgrade to get an answer to whether or not what you want to do can be accomplished via CSS editing.

The ad space isn’t a deal breaker. I thought the premium plans included all premium themes. :(

The Business was the plan I was going to enroll in. From my understanding, drastic customizations can be made if you’re Handy with CSS, right?
-
Sure you can pay annually for Premium upgrades for limited CSS editing ability here at WordPress.COM, or you can self host a WordPress.ORG install and edit the CSS free of charge.
