Selling clothes

I was inquiring on whether it is legal to sell through wordpress. A clothing company is interested in selling their clothes through my site because we have similar names. The company already has all the legal paperwork such as tax IDs/federal state ID etc.

No reselling anything made by anyone else is allowed on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. WordPress.com blogs cannot be equipped for ecommerce transactions with shopping carts and no blogger initiated advertising or paid or sponsored content is allowed. The only things you can sell on WP.com blogs are products that you, yourself create and/or services that you personally provide. For an online store with a shopping cart you need an independently hosted blog using WordPress.ORG software.

Does this mean that I can still promote the buying of something as long as paying for it is not done directly through wordpress.

Yes, that is what it means. YOu can’t get paid to put stuff on your blog, refer to it on your blog, etc, etc. Blogs get suspended for that every day.
