Selling Downloads

  Hello,

  I am interested in selling digital downloads on my site and possibly other items in the future. However, I currently have a free wordpress site so I’m wondering, do I have to upgrade to paid plan in order to sell digital downloads? Thank you for your help with this!

  One thing I will add is that if your WordPressdotcom website is public, your site will be searched and indexed by search engines, so you might want to keep your download files on a Private site or else on Dropbox, Cloudup, Drive and the like, that are not crawled and indexed.
