Selling handmade Items through my blog

    Okay, so I understand…
    1. It’s okay to sell MY handmade items on my wordpress.com blog
    2. Shopping carts are not allowed but using Pay Pal buttons is
    But what I can’t quite find information on is…
    Is there an easy way to create a clean simple online store of my hand made items for sharing/selling on my wordpress.com blog/site? I can’t seem to find tutorials on this anywhere. Only info for .org sites.

    Well, no there is not.

    There are a number of themes here that show featured posts in a grid-like pattern. That might be what you’re looking for. It’s a matter of aesthetics.

    There’s also the $300 a year Business upgrade that allows ecommerce programs of certain types, and they have built in stores.

    I have been designing my own page featuring my handmade jewelry which I will be selling through Etsy or some other site and I made all of my ‘buttons’ and things in Photoshop and added links to the buttons once on the site. It is A LOT of work but I think it’s worth it.

    Thanks everyone for your feedback. It seems you have confirmed what I kind of figured was the situation. I really like wordpress, I just wish I’d had a better comprehension of the differences between the .org and .com from the start since it appears I could have easily set something up through the .org and for much less than the .com business upgrade. But oh well, we live and we learn right! Again thank you all for taking the time to provide feedback and I wish you well.
