Selling in category

  I’m trying to display my items for sale by showing just the parent categories on the home page. It will only display all the products at once, instead of in their categories.

  Hi, my site is not active yet, as I am still working on it. Basically the Shop page will only display the products as a long list, when I am trying to display it under Parent pages/categories. I have tried all the different choices from the drop down in Display/under Categories.

  There are two different versions of WordPress– .com and .org.

  The two different entities have different support forums and documentation. It’s not clear which version your site is using.

  The forum you’ve posted in only provides support for sites hosted here at WordPress.com.

  Is you site hosted with WordPress.com or is it hosted somewhere else?

  If the site is using plugins for the “shop”, then it would mean you have self-hosted site using software from WordPress.org.

  If you need support for a self-hosted site, please try posting your question in the WordPress.org support forums.

  [Note: it will be difficult for people to help you without being able to see the site]

  Can you give me the link to Live Chat? This is what I need and I cannot seem to find how to access it, very frustrating. I have used Live Chat before now can’t find it! Such a simple thing I’m trying to fix but getting support is very difficult

  Yes I have a paid plan.
  Are you able to help me:
  When I click on my Shop page, I want the Parent Catagories displayed, (like Clothing, Accessories), then you would click on one of those, to go to the Subcategories (dresses, pants).
  Atm the shop page is just listing all items at once, regardless of category, in order I published them. This is not ideal for shopping.
  I have the Categories all set to Standard in the Display section in the set up.
  I have tried on both Shopfront and Shopstar themes but both do the same thing.

  Of what site are you speaking? This account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com. This account also doesn’t own any WordPress.com upgrde plans, so you won’t be able to access live chat support on WordPress.com while logged into this account.
