selling online courses

    Hello,
We are currently working on an online course and thinking of the best way of selling this online course to our customers.
We were thinking of hosting our videos on Vimeo (since our website won’t have that big sotarge possibilities). Then publish these videos on a WordPress site.
We plan on using the payment platform Mollie (because we start selling mostly in the Netherlands) but we are wondering how easy is it to implement the payment and password flow. So that once people purchase via our own website an online course they are sent to Mollie payment platform (this part is still easy via links), they pay, get a confirmation into their inbox together with a password. But as of there isn’t clear for us how the password generated by Mollie can be read by a wordPress website page with a membership login so that the people can view the videos (that are hosted at Vimeo). So people get a link once they purchase the video, they click on it, get on our WordPress page, put their unique password they got together with the link and view their video.
Do you have any experience with this?
Could you let us know what is or not possible, please?
Which tools or knowledge do we need?

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it.

    With kind regards,
    LK

    Hi there!
Great questions, every one! Only trouble is, you are asking the wrong WordPress forum. What you want to do certainly sounds possible, just not an a site hosted here at WordPress.com. To be able to do online commerce you need to set up a site hosted by a different hosting provider.

The forums at WordPress.com are meant to answer questions about content hosted here. I know it can be confusing so i will explain.

Pages that are not hosted here at WordPress.com are what we call here a self-hosted blog.
WordPress is the company that writes the software that is used by over 25% of the web! Because of their commitment to Open Source code, ease of use, and popularity, WordPress software is installed by many hosting providers for use by their subscribers.
WordPress also has their own hosting service known to us as WordPress.com.
BUT the software that you will be using on your self hosted blog has no real connection with WordPress.com, besides who made it and the name. They don’t talk to each other (even though they are on good terms).
https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ explains many of the differences.

The support at https://wordpress.org/support/ can help you with the questions you have asked.

    good luck!
