semi-transparent colour screen on banner image

I’m wondering if you can get rid of the semi-transparent colour screen on the Dyad 2 template. I’m using my own photograph and the added layer of colour is making the image too dark.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @vitalsignsnl, to do that would require custom CSS, which is part of the WordPress.com Premium or Business plans. It cannot be done.
If you should decide to upgrade, this would be the custom CSS needed to remove the translucent overlay on the featured image and/or custom header image.
.site-banner .site-banner-media::before, .banner-custom-header .site-banner-media::before { background: none !important; filter: none !important; }
