Send email notifications post/comment (PRIVATE BLOG)

  This is a great feature used in blogger (blogsend email) which supports even PRIVATE blogs. However, I do not see this feauture on WordPress. I have a PRIVATE wordpress blog serving a large community of busy professionals who love to receive updates. But, at the same time I have to keep the blog private due to sensitive information being discussed. I am looking out for a way to set automatic email updates for new posts/comments.

  I have created a PRIVATE googlegroup account to receive email updates on new posts/comments. Is there a way I could link this to my wordpress blog to receive updates.

  Please kindly let me know the available options
