Sending Newsletters/Blogs

Hello, I have been using WordPress/WooCommerce since 2016. This week, I changed host provider and discovered they have not allowed the newsletter to be sent because they are ‘over 100 subscribers’. I didn’t have a problem with the previous host, so I’m a bit baffled why this wouldn’t be included as part of hosting. The provider said I ‘could find another provider’… omg, not even 3 days after switching!

As I’m already with WordPress, can I send these directly from my account with you? I have 610 (not a lot) of subscribers, without any issues? Would I need to transfer the subscribers here? Would I have to pay more to do this? Is there a limit?

    I appreciate your advice.

  • Hi there,

Can you tell me how the newsletters are being sent? Is this the emails that get sent out when you publish a new post? Or, is this through another plugin you have on your site?

There’s no sending limit we enforce here beyond a rate limit for emails. So 610 subscribers would take a little longer to send than 10 subscribers but not much.

This would be for sites hosted on WordPress.com and you could certainly move to us to take advantage of our system. If the site is connected via Jetpack, then we can also move your subscribers over.

If you are using a plugin, then it still shouldn’t be an issue, but it might depend on the setup you have.

Either way, do let us know how you are sending these and we can confirm everything for you and I suspect, we’ll be able to get you set up here any remove this issue for going forward.
