Sensitive content image show/hide
-
Hi all,
I’m working on a site with the Dara theme, and am looking for a plug-in or something that I could add to hide and then show an image – like the ‘sensitive content’ warning on social media sites. So far I’ve just done it manually, like on this post: https://roamfreenation.org/2023/01/24/roam-free-report-from-gardiner/ – but I’d like to do it so it would show the image on the same page (and ideally, with less work). Thanks for any help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To be honest, I’m not sure that there is an out-of-the-box solution out there for this. I don’t know of any plugins that do what you are looking for, which is surprising.
It is possible to do via CSS:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/filter-function/blur?ref=hackernoon.com
…but may not be supported by all browsers (though I think it should be for the common ones).
Sadly, the only way to be 100% sure that this would work is to do it manually as you have been. Insert a blurred version of your image into a post and then link to the unblurred version.

Hi there, just thinking out loud, but would an accordion DIV work here? https://wordpress.com/support/advanced-html/#collapsible-content-accordion-effect
Not sure how search engines would treat this.
