Sentences overwriting

  • Unknown's avatar

First my draft didn’t save except the title, I spent over an hour typing and adding photos and had to save it for later. When I came back it had all disappeared!
Then as I started retyping the sentences won’t follow on but overwrap the previous sentence or only the top half of words appear. What is going on? Is it me fouling something up?
    Help please.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oh and latest thing is that I clicked to go from visual to html and there was nothing in html and when I went back to visual my recently written sentences were wiped! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
    Anyone else having a problem?

Hi. What browser/version are you using?

And have you tried any of the tips here?

    Hi
I am using IE 8 and can’t update to Chrome or IE9 because I don’t have service pack 2 for my Vista OS.
I have done a cache, cookies clear out – do that on a regular basis. Seems the only option is to download Firefox if I keep having these problems.

If you do choose to download Firefox you can do that here > http://browsehappy.com/

Many thanks Timethief :) Looks as though it is the way to go and perhaps my IQ will increase! Off topic but did anyone see that report? That IE users were mor likely to have a very low IQ, guilty as charged m’lud.

    You’re welcome and best wishes.

@gardenpinks: I saw that on the bbc.com website, and the very next day, they had a report saying that the original report was a hoax. Still all rather amusing. :-)

But Firefox does generally play nicer with the web than IE of any version. Opera is also quite good, though I use Firefox for my regular web browsing.

Somewhat related to the IE discussion. Danny Sullivan blogs on a new report by Chitika, which analyzed a week’s worth of traffic across its ad network sites from July 20 to 26, 2011, for North America. Bing Users Are From Internet Explorer; Google Users From Firefox, Chrome & Safari. http://searchengineland.com/bing-ie-google-firefox-chrome-safari-87547

Yeah, I saw that! I do think there’s some kind of MS branding that must be attractive for some users, in addition to the factors that Sullivan blogged about.

I don’t know why it is, but Bing not only never gives me the best search results when I search a topic, but it also is really lousy at indexing my site, so bad that keywords that consistently bring up my site on the first pages of Google and Yahoo.don’t seem to bring my site up on Bing at all.

I have tried going back to Bing on occasion, but I just haven’t found it satisfactory. Someone once said somewhere that Bing was great for image searches, but I think that Google image search has been better for me.

Maybe if I were always looking for restaurants or something of that sort, Bing would work better. They seem (from their advertising) to be concentrating on people’s offline recreational activities, like dining, travel, etc.
