Hello – I just wondered if WordPress blogs are as easily picked up by search engines as Blogger blogs… I read an article online that said that they are not as easily indexed etc… Is this really the case? Thanks!

Ha! ha! ha! I’ll bet you saw that on a Blogger blog covered with advertising and maybe even filled with duplicated content. I couldn’t resist – as the blogging platform that’s the home to the majority of free hosted sploggers and spammers is Ta Da! Blogger!
No it’s not true and more to the point WordPress blogs templates have good SEO, while Blogger templates throw over 300 HTML errors right out of the box.

@hannasgarden: What search engines prefer is an XML sitemap. All wp.com blogs have a built-in XML sitemap. As the relevant Support doc says:
“No need to do anything extra on your end. The sitemap file included with your blog is available to every search engine that supports the protocol, including Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Ask.com, and others. WordPress.com automatically sends updates to search engines every time you update or delete a page or post.”Could you please link to that article you read?
