SEO

Hi there,
Is there an SEO option for wordpress blogs. I have the all in one SEO pack on another wordpress blog, but it is privately hosted. I’d like to upload an SEO option on this blog as well – are any options available to me?
Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, the options are not available and very much not necessary. You’ll find, as I did, that WordPress.com blogs have a great deal more SEO than independently-installed WordPress, in part because there are literally millions of blogs hosted here. A big host always outranks a small host, all other things being equal.

You seriously don’t need SEO plugins here. WordPress.COM has more google juice than you can ever get with the SEO plugin. Just make sure and categorize and tag your posts – about 12 total maximum and make sure they are appropriate for your post subject, create good titles with keywords, and have good keywords in your posts and you are good to go. If you use images, make sure and put in “title” and “alt” tags for those images, and also include a description so that google images will pick them up as another way of getting to your site. Where appropriate, if you have a related post, include a link to that related post in your post body, and work on getting incoming links from high quality sources.

Wait, what? Oh, yes, yes it is.
:-)
It is hard to keep up with all the good stuff you have on your blog TT. Between you and Panos I’ve been thinking of making myself a database application and logging everything you two have on your sites so that I can easily find things. The search on the blogs turns up way too many posts and takes way too long to go through. Of course keeping a database updated is more work than I have time for, so I’ll just have to muddle along.

I agree, particularly about the search, getting 5 results at a time. I just generally give out the main link and let people find the individual posts themselves.

Yeah, I’ve even tried to expand my search terms hoping to narrow down the number of hits, but it never seems to work.
Maybe I’ll try Google instead and just use the “site:…” search string.
