SEO and wordpress
-
Greetings,
First, I love wordpress.com, it’s certainly the best blogging service available.
I’m thinking of moving my photo site off of wordpress to my own site. The reason is that I lack some features with photos that I could really use (and program myself). People simply never browse through enough pages to find my old photos…and there’s no way to sort them by view count, ratings, etc (things I could program myself on my own host).
My question is this, I know there’s a lot of theories, but can anyone say for sure…does google give any weight to the links from the global category/tag pages to your blog? I know I’ll lose my pagerank and have to start over…but I think the gains made in site functionality will be worth it. I just wanted to know what I might lose because of the global category links being gone.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
