SEO Help!! How To Add Site Meta Tag for Google & Traffic!!
-
Hi there,
I’ve been using WordPress for three years with a personal site, but I’m still a bit confused on the SEO front. Apologies if I come across a bit thick with this!
I can’t get a meta-tag description for my site, all I get is a bit of copy for each blog post I publish. This means my site’s kind of aimlessly floating about as I cover a wide variety of topics. Something solid which sticks, where I can add the right keywords, would be a big help.
I can’t install SEO Yoast, apparently as this isn’t allowed for personal users, but I’m likely losing a lot of traffic from a potential audience as there isn’t a definitive meta-tag for Google’s algorithms to crawl.
Any pointers will be much appreciated, thank you!

From the WordPress support docs:
WordPress.com automatically generates an XML sitemap for your website and supports webmaster tools validation through meta tags. Themes on WordPress.com generate the necessary markup on each page.
