SEO – Pages or Posts which are best?
-
From an SEO standpoint does anyone know if it is better to put your content on separate pages or is it equally advantageous to just put the information on one page with separate posts? (i.e. Does it matter to Google and Yahoo how many web pages you have or do they simply rank your site on it’s content regardless of how many pages you have?)

Posts. No question, no debate. Posts.
The more frequently you add new entries, whether pages or posts, the higher search engines will rank you, but posts can be categorized, which gives a huge SEO advantage; as well, they are posted to the main blog, which is TWO places your blog is being updated: it has a new post, and the main blog is updated at the same time.

Is it true that another way to mark a blog is by way of images. Giving your pictures titles and descriptions and alt tags is a good idea? WordPress.com allows you to do all of these things, and though they are not part of the global tag system, I do get a lot of hits via image searches. I guess this is a sort of question. -
It’s an EXTREMELY good idea, as is linking your pictures either to their source or, if original, to the file. And put alt text on the images; the alt text is yet another place to use keywords.
