SEO status with new site, working on draft

  Will I lose my current SEO ranking when I replace my current website with a new WP one? Whilst I am working on my new one, can I run my old one until I am ready to publish the finished product, and will my SEO be affected with new WP site?

  No, the SEO of two independent sites is independent of one another. What do you mean by having one “replace” the other? Will they use the same URL?
