SEO – when Page Break" is used is the page/post indexed as 1 page?

When using a page break is the SEO for free wordpress.com sites set up to have that page or post viewed by search engines as 1 page/post or not?

Outcome concern: if viewed as 1 long page/post, word count would better meet Google’s preferences; if SEO makes Google view it as 2 pages… word count will be thin.

Please advise for both pages and posts.

    Thanks.

  • Hi, as far as WordPress is concerned, it will be a single article with multiple pages. Different search engines may treat that differently, so you may want to check in their forums.

    I did find this, though:

It suggests you should optimize your site for users first, so I’d consider taking that into account when deciding how best to display your content.
