Separate blogs?

I want to start two separate blogs — but when I started the second blog, it listed my first blog as the author. How can I separate them?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Authors are determined by gravatar and username. Some themes do not show the author. More on gravatar https://en.support.wordpress.com/gravatars/

    You have some options.

    Get a new theme.

You can change your username https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/

Create a separate username for your second blog to show the correct author. https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

Create a separate username for your second blog and invite them as a contributer. You can then log im usimg your main account with both blogs and select that new user as the author for all posts made to that blog Without havimg to login to that account. https://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/

I have the same problem. I didn’t notice, that I will show up with my private picture in my business blog.
Do I understand this right: Every wordpress user that has the same email like my private stuff wordpress user, will be conected to the same gravatar?

    I don’t like this…. I wan’t to control what information are linked.

Is it possible to change the primary eMail adress in WordPress’ database, to detach the user from the gravatar?

    Hi kevinfleischer,

Your WordPress.com account (with the username kevinfleischer) has the Gravatar shown in your My Profile settings. When you creates sites and publish content from that account, your username and Gravatar are linked to that content.

If you want to remove your Gravatar completely, you can click on the photo in your My Profile settings to go to Gravatar to remove it (or change it to something else).

You can also follow the advice kristinavanhoos posted above to create a separate username for any sites or blogs you don’t want to have linked to your Gravatar for kevinfleischer.

I wound up creating a separate username, linked to a different email address. That worked, I just have to sign in separately — which is good, because there are others using the work-related blog and now they can just access that one rather than both.

@rachelmcr: Ok, I understand how the gravatar shows up on stuff i wrote through my wordpress.com blog.

In the last month I startet a self hosted blog. The Username in that blog was different, but the email-adress of that user was the same like the one in kevinfleischer.

Further I connected my blog to the wordpress.com (via Jetpack) because i liked the extended features (like better Stats). But I never intended to link my private gravatar to the articles i posted there.

Btw: Those articles are not bad stuff, but I dont want to mix private sites and business sites.

My question: Can i remove the gravatar from the self hosted blogs articles?

@kevinfleischer — I see what you mean. Your Gravatar is linked to your email address, so if the account on the self-hosted site uses the same email address it will also use the same Gravatar. You can change the email address linked to that account to change the Gravatar that appears on that site.
