separate log in for consumers and customers?

    Hi all,

Im currently working on a website and in need of some advice. The website is a directory/lead generator of sorts similar to the likes of mybuilder, check a trade etc.

A consumer can create an account/profile, add pictures, list what they do etc

A customer can log in and post a job, or a type of consumer they are looking for, view a consumers profile, leave reviews etc.

The consumer then receives a text or email with the details. They can then log in and send an ‘interest’ in the customer post which will then connect the customer and consumer. Like a ‘Lead’

But with this, I would need a separate log in page for the customer so they can just have a basic profile to post a job and one for the consumer so they can add to their profile and possibly in the future a subscription/membership for leads

Is there anyway or any plugin that will allow this?

    Hope that makes sense

    Thanks

    Jay

    Hi there!

Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting.

To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.

Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use.

The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help and advise how to best set this up.

    Thanks!

For what it’s worth, it sounds to me like you’re looking for a Business Directory plugin, which lets you set up a site that connects businesses to potential customers. It’s been several years since I helped someone set one up, so I can’t recommend a current favorite, but I’d recommend looking these for something that’s well-rated, recently updated, and actively supported:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/directory/

Also, I don’t know if you have decided where to host yet. Our service includes SSL hosting, direct WordPress support, spam protection, backups, maintenance, security, and other services and features that don’t come with the free WordPress software. As a service, we’ll have your back in ways that the free software itself cannot. Extra code like plugins and outside themes can complicate the service we’re offering, so we require the Business Plan for plugin installation.

Or, you are welcome to use your own free copy of WordPress with another host, and use community resources or hired contractors if you don’t have time to take care of security, spam filtering, backups, support, and maintenance yourself.

Let us know if you have questions!
