Separate templates section in the "Posts" page

Currently, in the wordpress.com “Posts” interface, there are tabs for “Published” posts, “Drafts,” “Scheduled” posts, and even “Trashed” posts, if any. I currently have a few “template” posts that I use “Copy post” on to make new posts but these are mingled in with actual drafts. It would be nice if there was a “template” tab that these could be kept in, with a menu option in the ‘”…” expander that said “use as template” that would move the template from Drafts to Templates and then, from the Template tab, “copy as draft” or something like.

It’s possible there’s a way to do this and I just don’t know it, so it would be great to find out. If not, it would be a great feature to have.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there!

There is no option to create a tab like this, but I will pass your idea to our developers. If more people suggest this, it may be implemented in the future :)

  • Also, I forgot to mention, have a look at the Reusable Block, maybe that will be a solution for you:
