separating WP sites

I have 3 sites under one login. I need to move 2 of them away from the 1st, so as to never have them confused. (One is a writer site, 1 is paintings, and 1 is for future therapy business.) How do I do this without completely starting over, or losing the writer content?

First create a new wordpress.com account, next transfer your site(s) to the new account, https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

    Hi @jennieblackwrites,

You can transfer your sites into 3 different users and accounts. Follow the guide linked below:

    Hi,

I had a similar problem and it’s not quite as straightforward as has been said.

First you will need to create new authorship identities and you do this by creating new e-mail addresses. Once you have a new e-mail address you can create a new WordPress account as WordPress doesn’t allow any e-mail address to have more than one identity.

Once you have set up a new WordPress account with the new email address, you can transfer ownership of your old website to your new account. To do this you need to log out of your new account and log in to your old account again, select the website and then transfer the ownership details to the new account.

The downsides are that you have to log out and back in again every time you move between accounts, and you will end up with separate financial arrangements for each individual account as well. The log-out/log-in function is accessed by clicking on your gravatar image in the top right-hand corner of your screen

Allowing multiple user names or author names for each WordPress account is, apparently, on their “wish list” but it’s not considered to be enough of a priority (yet) to justify the development hours needed to implement such a change.
