Sequrity issue multiple e-mails connected with gravatar
-
I manage severeral wp sites, and have installed and connected jetpack on many of them with my own wordpress.com account.
I’ve set up subscribe to blog e-mail newsletter by using the jetpack widget. Then for the registered users at the different wp installations I’d like to set a custom gravatar to appear in the newsletter.
I’ve added a user e-mail to my gravatar account, but apperantly now this user will get an e-mail with a link that directly let him log onto my account and even has the possibility to set his e-mail as primary.
This is bad right?
As administrator, I need to be able to select if added e-mail can have such access. Also in many cases, the users shall have a company logo as their gravatar. This should be set by me as the administrator.
As of now, I cannot find these settings beeing present in the gravatar control panel.

Hi there!
Every user has control of their own Gravatar. You can not manage other users gravatars without allowing them access to the Gravatar account.
You’ll need to have your writers set up their own Gravatars.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

The user will still be able set his email as primary under my account. This is my primary concern. And the users are not people, but functions. So the gravatar will be the logo of the organisation. It is not up to the person filling the function to set up. The user is posting on behalf of the organization.

I understand what you want to do, however this is not what Gravatar is made for and we don’t have support for it. Your best option is to have the individual accounts set up their own Gravatar accounts for the email addresses and provide them with the images you want them to be using.
