Serbian latin letters publishing all funky

Hellooo everyone! This is a newbie trying to build her (hopefully) future website with the WordPress, and I fell in love with the Something Fishy theme – it is absolutely gorgeous! I merrily went on to decorate the site, when I noticed that some of the letters used in my language (Serbian latin) such as š, ć, č, ž, đ etc. look rather funky when published :( Is there a cure to this? This REALLY hurts everyone’s eyes when reading the content, and without those little trinkets over the letters, the text can get pretty confusing. I cannot change the fonts (I understand that is only reserved for the Premium users, which I am not sure that at the moment I wish to become), and nothing changes either when I select the Serbian language in the “language used to write posts” or something drop-down bar. Hoping for the good outcome here, thank you in advance!

P.S. I don’t mind if you change the font to the Serbian latin-compatible one, just asking if pretty please the “swirly and curvy” blog name letters (Slow living Serbia) in the header could be unchanged in that case :) Thanks again, onward to waiting!

In this case, I believe you’re correct. We’re limited by the theme’s default font (Port Lligat Sans):

I’m not seeing the Serbian characters you mention in that font. In that case, the characters won’t display correctly.
Outside of the Custom Design upgrade in the Premium bundle, switching themes is going to be the only way to go. What do you think about the Kelly theme shown here?

It uses an Open Sans font by default, which I believe does include the characters you’re looking for:
